Questions, answered plainly.

What the practice is, how coaching works, and how to begin. If your question is not here, write to Sam. She reads everything.

The practice

What is SamSation?

SamSation is a practice in real life movement, led by Sam Rabon in Los Angeles. It is not a fitness program. Sessions are built around how bodies actually move in life, not in a gym: restoring mobility, building strength, recovering from injury, and creating balanced movement that lasts.

How is this different from a workout?

Most training adds intensity. This practice works on the patterns of daily life: stepping, hinging, rotating, reaching, shifting. In Sam's words: most people do not need more intensity. They need movement that supports the life they actually live.

Who is Sam Rabon?

A dancer first, then a studio owner, now a private coach. Sam has spent more than 40 years in movement: as a professional dancer across Australia, Japan, Portugal, Italy, and France, then building, running, and selling studios in Sydney and Los Angeles, training and mentoring instructors along the way. Today she coaches privately. More about Sam.

Who is SamSation for?

People recovering after surgery. Pregnant and postpartum clients. Performers and athletes whose work depends on their bodies. People at a desk all day. Anyone preparing their body for real life.

Coaching & booking

What are the ways to train with Sam?

Three formats of coaching: private 1:1 sessions in Los Angeles and online, live online sessions, and group Lagree and studio sessions at The Megaformer Studio in West Hollywood. Beyond coaching there are on-demand programs on Solin, and retreats a few times a year. See coaching.

How do I book a session?

Live online sessions are booked through the scheduler on the Coaching page. You receive a confirmation and a link to join by email. For private 1:1 sessions, write to hello@samrabon.com with a little about your body, your history, and what you are working toward. Group sessions are booked through The Megaformer Studio.

Do I need to be in Los Angeles?

No. Private sessions happen in person in Los Angeles, and online where it makes sense. Live online sessions and the on-demand programs are open from anywhere.

What do private sessions and retreats cost?

Rates are shared in conversation, not listed. Private coaching and retreats begin the same way: write to hello@samrabon.com, then a call to get to know each other and see whether it is the right fit. Retreat places go through the waitlist, and the waitlist hears first. On-demand programs are the exception: $95 each, with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

I am recovering from surgery or an injury. Can I start?

Yes. Much of the work begins here. Private sessions are built around what your body needs that day, and rehab is made safer before it is made stronger. Tell Sam about your history and she will point you to the right way to begin.

I am pregnant or postpartum. Is this for me?

Yes. Private sessions offer strength that adapts, built around where your body is now.

On-demand

What are the on-demand programs?

Two programs, hosted on Solin. Functional Strength Snacks: six weeks, three sessions per week, 30 to 40 minutes, dumbbells only. Movement Snacks for Daily Life: four weeks of thirty-minute sessions built around the patterns of daily life, open to all levels, with lifetime access. Each program is $95, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Explore the programs.

What equipment do I need?

Little. Functional Strength Snacks uses dumbbells only. Movement Snacks for Daily Life is built for home, with guided video demos for every exercise.

Retreats

What happens on a retreat?

A few times a year, Sam gathers a small group somewhere quiet. Days are built around movement, recovery, shared meals, and time outside. You leave with a body that feels different, and a practice you can keep. The next retreat is Fall 2026 on the Greek coast. The group is small by design, and joining starts with a conversation: places go through the waitlist, and the waitlist hears first. See the retreats.
